Augusta Maintenance Division Employee Health Fair- May 22, 2024

Posted 6 months ago by Wendy Sawyer

The mission of Augusta-Richmond County’s Maintenance Division is to serve and support the public by proactively maintaining and improving an effective, efficient, and clean roadway and drainage system. They are responsible for: Maintenance on all county roadways; Maintenance on County Retention / Detention Ponds; Repair / Maintenance on sidewalks, storm drain inlets, and curb and gutters; Maintenance / repair of Storm Water Drainage Systems (pipe and open ditches); Maintenance of the Augusta Levee and Oates Creek Flood Control Projects.

The health of these hardworking individuals who maintain the Richmond County roadways and drainage system is of the utmost importance to management. Hence, for the 3rd year in a row, the Concerned National Black Nurses were available to take blood pressures and educate staff on symptom recognition, prevention and treatment of high blood pressure. Staff was very receptive, and engaged our members with many questions about diet and exercise and other means of high blood pressure management.
