Congratulations to the National Black Nurses Association for celebrating 51 years of Leading the Way in Innovation, Built Environments, Advocacy, Mentorship and Community Engagement. The NBNA Annual Conference was held from Aug 1-6 and was a huge success!! Eighteen members of the Concerned National Black Nurses of the CSRA were there to participate in all of the activities, most notably the Opening Ceremony, President’s Gala, Leadership Institute, Under 40 Forum, Bow Tie Breakfast, Ecumenical Service, and Closing Ceremony.

The Conference offered up to 17 CEs over the duration of the Annual Institute. The Exhibitor Hall showcased dozens of schools of nursing, health systems and much more. Member Dr. Prince-Clark represented Augusta University in the exhibitor hall. There were opportunities to network and have fun, such as at the Denim & Diamonds scholarship fund event and the Polynesian-theme Under 40 Forum at Trader Vics. VP Golden, Members Hightower and Norwood attended the 3rd Annual Bow Tie Breakfast where they networked with other members. Our six student member attendees participated in the NCLEX Workshop to gain valuable insight into preparation for the licensure examination.

There were many awards issued over the course of the conference. We were proud to be present when one of our founding members, Samantha Agee, was awarded the United Health Foundation Scholarship.
.
President Rainge and Secretary Sawyer showed our support of the host chapter, Atlanta Black Nurses Association, by assisting with registration and moderating and monitoring the session, The Built Environment Equals Health Equity.

We had an amazing time!!
