Congratulations to our scholarship recipients. On December 3, the Concerned National Black Nurses (CNBN) of the CSRA awarded two $1000 scholarships to very deserving nursing students at our Christmas Scholarship & Fellowship Luncheon. Janie Hamilton, a CNBN member, was in attendance to present her personal $1000 scholarship as well. All students attend Augusta University College of Nursing. Keonna Thompson is enrolled in the Masters of Clinical Nurse Leader tract and is the Secretary of the Black Student Nurse Society and member of the Black Student Union. In these roles, Keonna participates in many activities in the community to promote awareness of mental health disparities in underserved groups. Tanai Watson, a Dean's List awardee and National Society of Collegiate Scholars honoree, already possesses Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Public Health. She is now pursuing her BSN. She is an active student member of the CNBN and possesses a heart for service. Not only does she participate in our community activities, but she was selected to attend NBNA 50th Annual Conference in Chicago. Upon her return, she briefed us on ways to enhance our outreach. Sarah Hemphill, recipient of the JD Hamilton Scholarship, is also pursuing a BSN. Sarah is very service oriented and participates in several campus and community activities as President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is active in the Pre-Nursing Society and Student Government Association among others. All recipients are members of the Black Student Nurse Society.

Please join me in congratulating these hard-working and brilliant individuals, all of whom have promising futures in the nursing profession.
