Greetings!

The CNBN of CSRA  has been busy throughout the month of June. In recognition of Men's health awareness month; we provided self-breast exam and  prostate cancer education  to  men during the NAACP Juneteenth celebration and the  Paine College annual HIV Testing/Health Fair.  Wendy Sawyer (member)  posted an informative statement to our facebook page highlighting the risk and prognosis of breast cancer in men  link https//:www.facebook.com/csrachapter/posts/1852396945066074

Additionally Beulah Nash-Teachey (member) seized the opportunity to provide prostate cancer training to men attending a reunion. Nine men accepted the pledge to request screening for prostate cancer from their health care provider and to request or accompany another male family member to do the same.

Finally, members of CNBN of the CSRA attended an excellent roundtable community discussion about Sexual Harrassment: Awareness, Prevention, and Education sponsored by the NAACP of Augusta. Speakers incuded barristers and a retired police captain who provided outstanding information defining "what is sexual harrassment" and "what can you do if you experience sexual harassment"?  The valuable information received must be shared with our teenagers as well as people in the workplace.

Pictures of some of the events may be viewed in the June activity photo gallery (click link to the left).
