We are currently seeking a Surgery Center Staff Nurse to support our CCRM Fertility business. CCRM Fertility is a global pioneer in fertility treatment, research, science, specializing in IVF, fertility testing, egg freezing, preimplantation genetic testing, third party reproduction and egg donation. As a Surgery Center Staff Nurse, you will provide personalized, high-quality care to surgery patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their procedures. Your ability to work independently, while collaborating with physicians and the team when needed, will directly impact patient outcomes and contribute to the smooth operation of the surgery center. Responsibilities

  • Complete patient assessment, collection, and interpretation of pertinent data relevant to patient’s care.
  • Function as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, anticipating surgical team needs, and coordinating with other departments as necessary.
  • Perform duties as a scrub nurse, maintaining sterile technique while assisting surgeons with instruments, sponges, sutures, and supplies during operative procedures.
  • Provide pre-operative care, including patient assessment, verification of surgical site, and ensuring informed consent and necessary preparations are completed.
  • Ensure continuity of care by accurately documenting patient information, surgical events, and communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain and prepare surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to sterilization protocols and procedural requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique and use of equipment in the OR and PACU environment.
  • Deliver post-operative care in the recovery area (PACU), monitoring patients' vital signs, pain levels, and recovery progress from anesthesia.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to surgical complications or changes in patient condition, exercising critical thinking and clinical judgment.
  • Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative care, including discharge instructions and follow-up care recommendations.
  • Promote a positive work environment, be accountable for personal conduct and actively participate in staff meetings and unit problem solving.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills that provide efficient patient care and the smooth operation of the unit on a daily basis.
  • Detail oriented approach to paperwork, ensuring it is signed, accurate and complete.
  • Coordinates chart review prior to procedure to assure all surgery center and IVF laboratory consent forms are complete and signed.
  • Inquire with the patient if they have advanced directives and input the forms into the patient’s EMR if forms have been completed.
  • Oversee emergent situations calmly and efficiently, responding quickly and demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures and equipment.
  • Assists with QI and research as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher, in Nursing from an accredited school required.
  • State Registered Nurse license required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • 3+ years nursing experience in other RN roles.
  • 1+ year(s) experience related to operating room, PACU, or critical care experience required.
  • Laparoscopy experience required.
